Fog over the Mountains

Here is this weeks "Photo of the Week!" This is "Fog over the Mountains," a slightly enhanced version of the photo I posted on Flickr earlier. I took this while on my trip to Groton NH from the place I was staying at. There were some great views from up there.

NUONica Weekly Quick Tip #2 - Enhanced Doom

NUONica Weekly Quick Tip

Just in time for this weeks quick tip, Carl Forhan of Songbird Productions released his modified version of NUON Doom to the NUON-Dome Forums. I guess he made this some time ago, but just came across the code. There is also a nuon.cd file ready to be burned to CD to play in your N501. Even better, Kevin is now thinking of releasing a second games and demos collection!

Sleep to your music

Posted in
iPod Pillow

Hammacher Schlemmer is not taking pre-orders on an iPod pillow. This pillow has built in speakers, an amplifier, and a connection for your iPod or other music device. The pillow is made from therapeutic foam and a soft fleece cover. This is great for those who like to sleep to music, but hate wearing head in bed. The only downside is that it is battery operated, with no indication of an externat power supply option. It is schedualed to be released on October 10th for a price of $59.95.

Monster Game Collection

Posted in
Classic Game Collection

I found this over at Tech E Blog, this seems to be one major game collection! I don't know who it belongs to, but it looks like a very good representation, and the kind of collection I can only dream of. Though I'm not really sure how I should take it that Tech E Blog Singled out the Jaguar CD in the title. Check out the link for the eye candy:

Windows Tip #1 - Save Money

Windows Tip

If you need an office suite, but you're tired of paying Microsoft the amount they want for Office, then give OpenOffice.org a try! It offers all the features of Microsoft office that most people use, and it doesn't cost a penny! This is one of the many great and free open source programs available for download. It's even available for other operating systems, so even if your not using Windows, give it a look.

Linux Tip #1 - Try It!

Linux Tip

I'm going to give you the best Linux tip I possibly can, Try it! If you've never used Linux before, I suggest you go download Ubuntu, and install it on your computer. You won't regret it. Just make sure you back up all your files first. It doesn't cost anything, and includes everything you need for your computer right out of the box. It's a lot more secure than Windows is too.

Mac Tip #1 - Expose via Mouse

Mac Tip

For my first Mac Weekly Quick Tip, I'm going to discuss one of my favorite parts of my setup, my mouse. Get a Microsoft mouse for your mac, that's right, a Microsoft mouse. I have the Wireless Laser Mouse 5000. It's very responsive, has an excellent battery life, and two extra buttons. I have one button to go back. That is, if you are surfing the web, you just hit that button to go back a page. The other button brings up Expose. It makes it much quicker to switch between windows than having to hit a button on the keyboard every time.
